There are some things in life that are necessary depending on where you were born. For example, if you are Portuguese, you have to like bacalao and sardines, or if you are American, you have to know Casa Blanca and Disneyworld. I'm Brazilian and, of course, I have to know Río de Janeiro. But it wasn't my case until a month ago – in detail, I'm 25 years old.
The first time I went to Río was for work. I had meetings and didn't have time to know much. Furthermore, of all the sunny weeks that there has been, I have been in a rainstorm, so my colleagues have not lost the habit of deciding that I am “cold pie”, that I am a person with bad luck.
The second time was much more wordpress web design agency interesting. I got tickets for Rock In Rio, a music festival. It seemed like success was finally on my side. I agreed with my boyfriend, bought the bus tickets and went away. We arrived in Rio early on Saturday and how did we spend that time? Lloviendo. You can't have it all, right? In any case, we were there and went to a big concert the next day.
We had prepared an entire itinerary for the most famous beaches, such as Copacabana and Ipanema and, at the end of the afternoon, we would look at the sunset in Arpoador, which is very beautiful. But I was loving it and so I stopped all day. What can you do in a beautiful city like Rio de Janeiro? Go to the museum! Then we went back to the Museo del Mañana. It is very beautiful, with an interesting exhibition that makes us think about how we want to live on this planet if we continue to consume natural resources in such an irresponsible way. If you're going to Rio, you have to know!
On Sunday we went to Rock In Rio, and no longer! There was an entire transport system prepared, with the Metro and BRT (Bus Rapid Transit), so it was easy to get to Ciudad del Rock. There were several things to do, like a giant wheel and an arcade with old video games and pinball, which was really fun!
At 6 pm the show by Ivete Sangallo, a very lively Brazilian singer, started. Then it was time for the sweetest band of the 90s, “GooGooDolls”, not so excited. “Dave Matthews Band” was the third, and I didn't know much about them, but I enjoyed the show, with many good songs. And to end the night with perfection, the “Bon Jovi” show. I sang all the most famous songs, it was simply wonderful! The concert was late, like the middle of the night, so I was tired, but I couldn't stop singing and jumping, it was really beautiful!
The moon had a free day to finally discover something in Rio. It was cloudy, we went to Christ the Redeemer discouraged, but we managed to see it! It's not as big as you thought, but it's just as pretty. Then we went to “Parque Lage”, a park with a famous swimming pool, which everyone took a photo of. We loved going to the Botanical Garden, but it was close to closing time.
