I have had a few rounds on PGA Tour 2K21 and the first thing I will say is you can't play both games. The tempo's on all facets of the games are totally different. What I will say is the new game is superb in giving that golf feel, you are not really sure how each shot is going to be or end up, I think they have done a tremendous job of bringing that to the table.
I can't say much more, need to explore it some more.

The swing is faster and timing is going to be new for 2K21. I use the XBox One controller and all the buttons are different, making it confusing until you get used to it. Aiming is different too, for us controller users you can only use the left stick, no more clicking the + pad to move your aim. I used the 'Pro-Am' clubs; they feel like the 'Master Clubs' for 2K19 and there are two more sets of clubs above the 'Pro-Am' clubs.... Yikes! The game plays great, the ball rolls smoother and looks real. I'm not to keen on the ball hats though, maybe they should give us one to put on sideways There is quite a degree of settings to get setup and going, from swing calibration, practice swings, and clothes. You can set all setting you can think of to 'on or off' It looks like allot went into this version. Let's hit'em randy

Just starting to check things out. Playing PC with mouse has resulted in re-finding the keyboard shortcuts. Why HB decided to mix everything up again I dont know, but it was a bother to check all these things out again. Anyway, i think i found all the keys now, so thats taken care of.
I'm starting at Pro level as that seems to be par to the Masters clubs. It looks that way. The UI looks to be as good or better then TGC19. What i found disappointing is that clubs- and accessoires are now almost 100% buy-ins. The standard stuff in TGC19 has disappeared. Just the clothes on your back and the standard clubs is the starting point. This is just minor stuff though. All in all it looks terrific. Graphics are sublime, grasses look fantastic, new shot shaper is impressive and i like the new ball contact noises when the club hits the ball. Especially the irons is very good.
I will continue on the World tour and England tour for the time being. I expect the Admins will start up a new Society and will join ofcourse. Lots of options now!! Transition from TGC19 to 2K21 will come in time. I will fool around with the new game off and on for a while and get acquainted with everything (and get some monies!). Its a Brave New World out there!

I'm not sure of all the keyboard shortcuts but that might help with having the XBox controller buttons rearranged. One thing that did catch me off-guard was my very first shot, as soon as I hit it my controller started vibrating lol almost come out of my hand. I had to find the off key straight away lol There are allot of helpers in the game; one being it will adjust for the wind and rough settings (with the Pro-Am) clubs anyway. These helpers can be disabled for league play and social events. Note: One still has to complete the perfect swing. I haven't found the degree of club loss when in the rough. I believe it's a guess as in the real world. Take the clubs to the practice range and see how they act. It will take a bit to learn all the settings and the game looked great. My first round: Attachments:

not a great job done for mouse/keyboard players. i know of at least 5 players asking for refunds. ive not played it enough to give my thoughts yet. also im not sure anyone would know what you are playing against in a match.

You have got to work at the game to start with Terry. I played about 10 rounds before I broke par, using the Pro difficulty setting(equates to Master in TGC2019), I think they have done a cracking job with it. Putting in particular is really good once you master how to swing with the mouse. I have just qualified for the Korn Ferry Tour and shot a really satisfying -6 under in the second round of my first event. As I said earlier, I don't think you can play both games, the keyboard assignments are all different and the swing tempo's are totally different.

Apparently Yorkybrom asked for a refund and was refused as he had the game more than 2 hours lol.

Well, that's a bit quick! I dont agree. The game plays as good as 'the old one'. The 'keys thing' is a spot of bother but once checked out (and noted) no problem. The shot shaper is also to be used with the keys and the gameplay is as good as in the past. I have not seen the option for a Fly-Over at the start of every hole, as i like that (some dont); maybe 2K21 has ditched it? Have spend a couple of hours now and started to play a couple of rounds. First attempt is a +8/80 and second a +3/75 (Pro level).
Most of my dropped shots are with the putter. Although very similar to '2019' the take away is not as smooth as in '2019' for some strange reason. I have looked at Mouse sensibility but it's not clear what is causing this. The big swing is pretty good. I like that the backswing tempo is out of the picture now as i always found/find that a bit strange. Pitching, chipping, flopping and -NEW- splashing is excellent. Partial shots seem better now then in '2019'. Pro level looks my benchmark for now.
Me too, I shall donate my '2019' monies to The Old Goats if it can be transfered to the new game?

I suppose the big question is are those who have bought the new game no longer going to play in the old goats tours on 2019?

Hi Les As I said earlier, I don't think, if using the mouse, it is possible to play both games well because the swing tempo's are so different. I will stick to 2K21, it is so much better in so many ways, courses look way better you can actually see the subtle slopes etc. A couple of the Designers have already started to port their creations over and they look superb. Also as you know I am fed up with some of the stupid scores that are being posted on events on here. I like to play Master clubs in 2019 and I can't compete with the scores some Pro club users are posting, so it seems a bit pointless trying sadly. Might see you sometime in the new one. Cheers Simon

Well its taken a while to get the settings I want for 2K21 but one setting I can't get working is the grid below my golfer ken's feet. I have it set as on but nothing in the fairway to show me the slope I also plan on playing both 19 and 21. The tempo is different but with a few practice swings gets me going. randy

I've been playing with the settings Doyley has put out for TGCTours... Masters difficulty with a whole lot of stuff switched off... man I have done about 15 rounds and a +1 is the best I've done. There's a thread in the News & Annoucement Section of the TGCTours forums if you want more details.
